For Court & Evaluators

Clinical objectivity. Thorough documentation.

Court-ordered psychiatric and substance use evaluations conducted with the clinical rigor your record requires. Reporting that meets judicial and legal expectations. The role is clinical, not advocacy.

i.Common referrals

What is typically referred.

  • Substance use evaluations for pre-sentencing, probation, or post-conviction review.
  • Psychiatric fitness or competency-related determinations within scope of practice.
  • Co-occurring substance use and psychiatric assessment in a single integrated report.
  • Treatment recommendation reports for diversion or specialty-court programs.

ii.Process

How the evaluation runs.

Referral review

The court order or referring document is reviewed to confirm scope, deadline, and the specific questions to be answered.

Structured clinical interview

Comprehensive history, mental-status examination, substance-use assessment, and standardized tools where indicated.

Written report

Clear, defensible documentation. Findings and recommendations stated within scope, separated from advocacy.

Post-evaluation continuity

If recommended and the patient consents, ongoing bridge care or medication management can be continued at the practice.
